In its endeavors to develop the community continuously, the United Arab Emirates seeks to attract creatives and inventors from all over the world to reside in the country, as the digital government of the UAE has called on creatives, inventors, and innovators who excel in their fields to apply for a golden residency visa in the country for a period of 10 years, subject to renewal.
The Digital Government explained that the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority nominates and approves applicants with creative talents, in the fields of literature, culture, arts, heritage and historical studies, and intellectual, and creative industries, to obtain a long-term golden visa (duration of 10 years, renewable), in coordination with the General Administration of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai.
The Golden Residency for creatives requires a letter approved by the Ministry of Culture and Youth or the Department of Culture and Arts in the relevant emirate, while the Golden Residency for inventors and innovators requires a letter of recommendation from the Ministry of Economy in the United Arab Emirates.
The most important conditions for an innovator and inventor to be eligible to obtain a golden residency are:
• Nomination or obtaining a well-known international or regional award in the creative sector
• He has an honorary position from a prestigious international body for his distinguished creativity
• Active membership in an international art organization or association
• He has a creative production that has gained remarkable appreciation from society and the media
• His works have been presented in prestigious forums locally, regionally, or internationally (exhibitions, forums, festivals, events)
• A patent that gives added value to the economy of the United Arab Emirates and must receive a recommendation from the Ministry of Economy or the Abu Dhabi Competitiveness Office.
