The United Arab Emirates strives to recognize academically outstanding students. The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security has announced the issuance of the Golden Visa for top-performing graduates from Emirati schools and universities for the year 2023. This achievement is in line with the directives of the UAE's wise leadership and in appreciation of the efforts, determination, and excellence demonstrated by students and graduates in the pursuit of knowledge.
Furthermore, students who achieve a score of 95% or higher in the General Secondary Certificate are granted the Golden Residency for a duration of five years with no sponsor. The visa benefits also extend to their family members based on the approved nomination list provided by the KHDA. Additionally, university students, both local and international, are eligible for the Gold Residency, provided that the graduating student achieves an excellent rating with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 or 3.75, according to the classification of universities within and outside the country.
The categories designated for granting the Golden Visa High school students
If you are a high school student and have obtained a high ranking at the state level (with a grade of no less than 95% in a public or private high school), you may obtain the golden residence visa for a period of 5 years independently without having a sponsor, provided that you submit a letter of recommendation from the Ministry of Education (Emirates Schools Establishment). This residence permit may be renewed if the student is still registered in a university in the country and needs a study period of more than 5 years.
UAE university students
Outstanding UAE university students can obtain a 10-year residence visa without having a sponsor, provided that the following requirements are met:
The university must be classified (A) or (B) according to the classification approved by the Ministry of Education
A letter of recommendation from the university or a graduation certificate stating that the student’s cumulative GPA is not less than 3.5 in A-rated universities or 3.8 in B-rated universities.
A grade average of 3.5 or 3.75 is a requirement for university students Provided that graduation must not have occurred more than two years ago.
Foreign university students
The following conditions are required to issue golden residency for top graduates of foreign university students:
The classification of foreign universities must be among the best 100 universities in the world according to the international classification approved by the Ministry of Education
The bachelor’s graduate’s cumulative GPA should not be less than 3.5 Graduation must not have been more than two years
The certificate must be accredited by the Ministry of Education
